About KOZA

Our Mission

Skin concerns should not hold you back from feeling confident and beautiful. We are here to assist and educate our clients on the best products and treatments,  that work synergistically with the skin's natural functions and defense systems.

Our Name

We can all agree that creating a name for a business is many things. Easy, typically, is not one of them. After many days of options just “not fitting”, our owner, Karmen turned to her friends for inspiration and feedback.

One of her friends, Heather, knew of Karmen’s Croatian heritage and love for traveling, so she started Google translating beauty terms to see what she could come up with. After a few misses, she asked, “What about koza?”

Karmen started laughing and double checked what she had translated. Heather had tried translating “skin”. What popped up in Google was “koža” but she pronounced it as “koza”. See, the accent over the Z is actually very important. With it, it does mean skin. Without the accent over the Z, it means goat.

Needless to say, they all laughed quite a bit over it. After mulling it over the next few days, the name stuck.

Thus, Koza Aesthetics was officially born.

From Our Owner

Like so many others, I struggled throughout my adolescence and early adulthood with problematic skin. I had cystic acne, rosacea, and (almost always) a broken skin barrier. Safe to say, I was uncomfortable and self-conscious. Learning about skincare, ingredients and treatments quickly became my favorite past-time activity.

After working in other industries for years and treating skincare as a hobby, I became an aesthetician to help other people achieve their skin goals.

To this day, I continue to enroll in programs, conferences and trainings to further share my knowledge and my passion with all my clients. I vow to hold their best interests in my heart.
